P.A.L.S. has an adoption process. If you are interested in adopting a cat or kitten we ask that you fill out our adoption form. Our manager will process your application and will let you know within a day or two whether you have been approved. If you own your home you can help speed up the process by bringing in proof of ownership such as a mortgage statement. Basically anything stating you own your home. If you rent, we need your landlord's verbal permission. We are open everyday from 8 to 2 so please feel free to stop by and visit the kitties and fill out an application. There are 3 pages to the application, you will need all 3 printed and filled out. Adoption Application (PDF) You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open this file Adoption Fees: Males & Females Altered - $85 (had vaccinations, tested for FIV/Leukemia, wormed, treated for fleas and mites) Kittens Altered - $85 (first distemper and wormer) Senior Citizens - $25 ten years and older (had vaccinations, tested for FIV/Leukemia, wormed, treated for fleas and mites) |
| **A Note To All** Oftentimes potential adopters or even visitors of the shelter comment on the adoption donation being "high". The reason for this is because of the amount of money we put into our cats. Cats at PALS are fixed, had their distemper and rabies and are AIDS/Leukemia tested. We have also started testing for heartworm. With our vet, a neuter costs $35. A spay is $60. Rabies Vaccinations are $21 a piece. An AIDS/Leuk Test is $47.14. Anesthetic for each spay/neuter is $27. For the male cats that comes out to a total of $130.14 and for the females it is a total of $155.14. Those amounts don't include the cost of the distempers we have to have on hand, the flea treatment, ear mite treatment, wormer, medications if a cat comes down sick. Still think asking $85 to adopt a cat is too much? |
